Teen H.Y.P.E. equips teens for their journey towards success. The organization was founded in 2004 as a response to students' needs for prevention services. By using the principles of personal, peer and community, we mold the whole person and teach young people that they have options.
Options are crucial in a society that often marginalizes the issues faced by urban youth. According to America's Promise Alliance, a student drops out of school every 26 seconds. This statistic, combined with teen pregnancy rates, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence and a host of other social problems, paints a dismal picture for the future of today's urban youth. Teen H.Y.P.E. teaches teens to refuse to succumb to stereotypical depictions and to be empowered.

Programs

The Teen H.Y.P.E. model is informed by (QOP) Quantum Opportunities program. Teens are provided with education, development, and service activities, coupled with a sustained relationship with a peer group and caring adults participants meet weekly at the St. John Health Clinic located in Detroit's Cooley High School.
