H.Y.P.E.'s Top 5 Guide

This guide provides you with information about health care providers and clinics that are dedicated to serving teens throughout Detroit. These adolescent experts know that your needs are different than those of your parents and younger brothers and sisters. They want to answer all your questions about sex, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STDs), prevention, birth control, and other issues that are important to you. The services they provide are confidential, which means they won't tell your parents or guardians unless you want them to.

At the following clinics, you can access sexual health services on your own (without permission from your parents) even if you are under age 18.

Sexually active teens should be screened once a year for STDS/ HIV and more often if you have a new partner. Remember your sexual health is your responsibility! Free treatment is available for people who test positive for HIV or other STDS
